Our Impact

At Roho Apparel, impact is not a side project—it’s part of our operating model. Every product we make is designed to move the apparel industry forward: cleaner, fairer, and rooted in local value creation. Our impact strategy focuses on three core pillars:

1. Tree Planting for Climate Resilience

For every item sold, Roho funds the planting of one tree through local reforestation partners in Uganda and East Africa. This initiative helps restore degraded land, sequester carbon, and improve long-term biodiversity.

Our tree-planting program is not just about offsetting emissions—it creates rural jobs, stabilizes soil, and contributes to long-term climate resilience in some of the regions most affected by deforestation.

2. Sustainable Materials and Farming

Roho is committed to sourcing natural fibers with a low environmental footprint. Where possible, we use cotton grown in East Africa, and we are actively exploring partnerships to support regenerative farming methods in Uganda.

Our long-term vision is to build traceable supply chains from farm to fabric—supporting smallholder farmers, reducing input use, and preserving soil health.

3. Social Mission: Jobs, Skills, and Equity

Uganda has one of the world’s youngest populations, and the textile sector is a key opportunity for inclusive growth. Roho employs and trains workers in ethical production settings with fair wages, safe conditions, and skills development.

We work with women-led production units and offer steady employment in a country where youth unemployment remains high. By investing in local capacity, we help build long-term economic resilience through dignified work.

Beyond Compliance

We go beyond minimum standards. Roho is committed to full supply chain transparency, circular design principles, and ongoing measurement of our environmental and social outcomes.
